Over the past few days a piece of news that has sparked much speculation has hit the web and although the original source is questionable, I can't say that I am surprised. Hugh Jackman has been offered $100 million to play Wolverine 4 more times , which is a smart move if Fox wants to build their own Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What follows is pure fanboy speclation and in no way should be taken as informed fact.
,Fox has made 2 Fantastic 4 movies (with a reboot on the way) 1 Daredevil, 1 Elektra, and 4 X-Men (With a 5th on the way) plus two Wolverine movies. That's a total of 10 movies they have made with the Marvel properties they own or owned the rights to. And only 1 person has appeared in half of those, I say that's a pretty good start to establishing a decent cinematic universe.
Moving on, I read a little while back that Fox wanted to connect to the Marvel Studios Cinematic universe, but Marvel Studios said that they would be interested only if Fox could get their Cinematic Universe (C.U.) in order. Since Hugh Jackman has become the face of the Fox C.U., he is perfect as the unifying thread to connect all the dots on the X-Men side of things.
Where does this lead us? Well if all goes well, we could very well see Hugh Jackman fighting alongside The Avengers or perhaps (less likely) maybe he will show up in one of the Amazing Spider-Man sequels thus unifying Sony and Fox's universes as one before moving on to Marvel Studios.
While that sounds ludicrous as it would require many more appearances as Wolverine by Hugh Jackman, I think that after all the movie universes are connected, there will be a massive changeover in the casts all across the board. Hugh Jackman would be finished with his role by 2021 and so would pretty much everyone else, paving the way for total recasts.
